Changes to in-kind funding arrangements for NDIS participants in Tasmania
The Tasmanian government has previously funded Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) for people with disability who lived in government-owned homes. This will change from 30 June 2023.
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will now fund SDA and provide the money to participants through their NDIS plans.
Participants can use this money to purchase SDA from the Tasmanian Government’s chosen provider. There won’t be any interruption to SDA supports. The new system will be the same as the rest of Australia.
