From August 1, free COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) for concession card holders will no longer be distributed through pharmacies.
Instead, Service Tasmania will be the new place to get your free RAT allocation (10 RATs over a 3 month period, maximum of 5 per month).
You can find your nearest Service Tasmania centre by using their Find a Service Centre page.
Eligible concession cards are:
– Commonwealth Seniors Health Card;
– Health Care Card;
– Low Income Health Care Card;
– Pensioner Concession Card;
– Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold, White or Orange card.
Remember, if you don’t have a concession card or can’t get to a Service Tasmania centre, you can still request a free RAT if you have symptoms or are a close contact by calling the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 or online using the Request a RAT form.
For more information about the changes, take a look at the Tasmanian Government’s coronavirus community update Changes to RAT distribution for concession card holders from 1 August.
