 Quick Summary

Cricket is a team sport played between two teams on a large oval of grass with a small rectangle called the pitch in the middle. Each team takes a turn or innings at batting while the other team fields. The batting team attempt to score runs by hitting the ball with a bat and running back and forth on the pitch, before the ball is returned to the target sticks called wickets. The fielding team throws or bowls the ball towards the wickets and attempts to catch or stop the ball from reaching the boundary. The Hobart Hurricanes cricket team run the annual Hurricanes Inclusion Cup for any player with a physical or intellectual disability. New Horizons Tasmania run a weekly cricket program and Physical Disability Sports Tasmania run wheelchair cricket programs.
