Players are the people who learn how to play the sport and then play on the team or compete individually depending on the sport.

Volunteers play many roles in sport clubs and are essential to a clubs success and keeping things working. Some examples of club roles for volunteers are, managing registrations, team uniforms, rosters, canteens, coaching and officiating, marketing and promotion or publicity, and looking after equipment or scoring.

Coaches are involved in the direction, instruction and training of  sports teams or of individual sports people. Coaches also teach individuals the rules of a sport and help them to develop their skills.

Referees and officials preside over competitive sporting events to help maintain the standards of play. They also detect rule violations and enforce penalties according to the rules of the game.

Committee members are responsible for planning and making decisions for the club and for the development of club policies.
