The About Me program helps people understand and share their story, identify the supports and accommodations that help them achieve their goals, and communicate this information with services, employers and people in their lives.
Emily, an About Me alumni member and program facilitator, says: “The program has helped change my life. I walk away from every session learning something new.”
Over the coming months, Emily will visit public venues across Tasmania, including Libraries Tasmania and Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania locations. People with disability, brain injury, carers, professional stakeholders and community members are welcome to attend, learn more and sign up.
Upcoming opportunities:
• 14 September, 12 pm – Clarendon Vale Neighbourhood House;
• 10 November, 2 pm – New Norfolk Library;
• 12 November, 2 pm – Bridgewater Library;
• 17 November, 2 pm – Glenorchy Library.
Taster sessions are also available for people who would like to learn more, try an activity or receive support to sign up. Other statewide pop-up and information stall opportunities are currently being negotiated, with details to be released soon.
