14 August 2025

Libraries in the south of Tasmania are hosting free workshops to help people to prepare for emergencies.
SES in partnership with Tas Fire Service are holding small group in person workshops at Libraries Tasmania locations.

The workshop uses a person centred approach. It covers the challenges people with disability may face on a daily basis, such as assistive technology, communications and transport.

The workshop aims to aid in your knowledge of hazards, where to find reliable information and how to develop an emergency plan suitable for your individual needs.

Carers and support people welcome.

Your presenter is Richard Witbreuk – Emergency Preparedness Facilitator with State Emergency Services (SES). Richard has a lived experience with disability living with a mobility issue.

The Person Centred Emergency Preparedness project is a project run in collaboration with the SES and TFS.

SES Tasmania also has resources to help prepare for all emergencies, not just bushfires. Being prepared and being aware is important for everyone.
