Amendment bill proposed for interstate prescriptions
The Tasmanian Government has tabled an amendment bill proposing changes to laws around interstate prescriptions.
Under the proposal, once the new laws have passed, Tasmanian pharmacists will be able to dispense a prescription for a Tasmanian that has been issued interstate, for almost any medicine, as long as the prescription complies with the requirements that already apply within Tasmania.
These changes are aimed at streamlining and simplifying access to important prescribed medications.
