Did you know that Instagram has introduced new rules for teens?
Instagram has create a Teen Account which aims to improve privacy, safety and wellbeing, as well as options for parental supervision.
Under the changes, anyone under 18 who signs up for Instagram in Australia, the US, the UK, and Canada will be placed into restrictive teen accounts.
The accounts will be private by default, and messages are restricted so teens can only receive them from people they follow or are already connected to.
Tech companies must take responsibility for safety on their platforms and services – the burden should never fall solely on the user. And that’s particularly true when it comes to younger users.
