Tas Police launch new tool: Supports Sexual Harm Reporting

Tasmania Police has launched Safe2Say, a new secure online reporting platform designed to make it easier for people to report sexual harm against children and adults. The service provides an alternative way for victims, witnesses and supporters to share information directly with specialist investigators.

Safe2Say allows users to choose when and where they make a report and gives them the option to remain anonymous throughout the process. After submitting a report, users receive a confidential Report ID and password, enabling them to communicate with investigators while protecting their identity.

The platform can be used to report current or historical sexual assault, sexual abuse and online sexual abuse. Tasmania Police says the service is intended to provide a safe and accessible reporting option for people who may not be ready to contact police through traditional channels.

Police have advised that Safe2Say is monitored during business hours only and is not suitable for emergency situations. Anyone in immediate danger should call Triple Zero (000), while non-urgent matters can continue to be reported through existing police channels.

The launch of Safe2Say forms part of ongoing efforts to improve reporting pathways for survivors of sexual harm and to help police identify and respond to offending while supporting those affected.
