Physiotherapy
Quick Summary
Physiotherapists specialize in helping treat conditions that affect movement, such as physical disabilities, developmental delay, musculoskeletal conditions such as arthritis, and injury or trauma. They can help improve gross and fine motor skills, balance, posture, and coordination. Physiotherapy is used to treat dysplasia of the hip (or clicky hips), gait problems due to flat feet or toe-walking, and milestones such as crawling, sitting unaided and walking. Paediatric physiotherapists treat children, and work very closely with parents on their child’s treatment. They will often provide exercises and activities to do at home or school, and sometimes equipment such as orthotics or splints might be used to help your child’s development.
